The character of Dr. Hannibal Lecter is a thriller/horror icon for a reason. This work absolutely deserves its notoriety! I do think, though, that some of the story is much more clearly portrayed and developed in the film adaptation. Reading the book reminded me that Anthony Hopkins really made Hannibal real, and I’m not sure I would have stuck with this one had I not seen and loved the movie so much.Overall a solid read, if you can stomach the darkness.
