The massive stakes of this plot dragged me in from the first page. It was slower-paced, which can be hit or miss for me, but I loved the way the story progressed through so much plot as well as time. I also really enjoyed the nerdy science angle of this one with so much description of how the book's opening scene would be handled using contemporary science, astronomy, and space travel tech.
