I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love it. I completely agree with all the reviews saying it felt like a copy and paste from several other popular books. I also just think the concept of the trials was not well developed or explained. Like what purpose did they serve? How do you win? What do you win? It just made no sense and seemed pointless. The stakes weren’t high enough. And the ending fell flat/was kind of predictable. I did the tandem read with Powerful and I think that’s what saved it for me honestly
