Wow I am so sad. Friends is one of my top 3 forever favorites, and hearing his story really broke my heart. This is a dark book. It feels even darker knowing how his life ultimately ended. But wow, there were some really beautiful parts too. I do not have much experience with addiction like this, so it was really eye-opening and heartbreaking. One thing I really wasn’t expecting was how often he talks about God. I hope he really had a chance to get to know Him before he died.
