The world building was really roughly developed and difficult to immerse myself in, and the FMC’s constant, paralyzing fear of an attempted SA in her past was confusing at best.
In some ways, this book just wasn’t a good fit for me — the slow burn romance was absolutely the central plot point, and that’s not really the kind of thing I enjoy reading.
I appreciated that it did stay clean, as marketed, and I do think there were a lot of good bones to the story. The author nailed the twist ending. But it could have really benefited from a more thorough developmental edit.
