This felt like the longest setup I’ve ever read in my entire life. And it was perfect in every way. I’ve read the entire Cosmere building up to The Stormlight Archive. This is truly Sanderson’s magnum opus! It’s long. It’s dense. But it pays off so well in the end. This is a spoiler free review, so I’m not going to get I to any story. I’ll just say that I absolutely adored the chapters that followed Kaladin & Shallan/Jasnah. I wasn’t as fond of the Dalinar/Adolin story, but I definitely didn’t hate it by any means. The entire buildup of all of these separate storylines made the last 100 pages of this book about as exhilarating as it gets! I’ll need to chew on it, but this may be the (objectively) best book I’ve ever read.
