Lots of suspense, a bit of a slow burn but not with a desirable romantic ending. Content warnings include substance abuse, discussions of grief leading to ritual activities, deaths, mild speak that’s demeaning fowards women, and some sexual tension, mostly closed door. Strange but interesting historical fiction about a female marine biologist who is recruited by a sick rich man to look for a magic fish to cure him.
