It had been a little over a year since I’d read Bands of Mourning. Man, I’d forgotten how much I loved these characters. Wax, Wayne, Marasi, Steris. Wayne is one of my favorite Cosmere characters & this book really showcased his character for me. The expansion of the worldbuilding continued through these last two books was brilliant. And the expansion of the Cosmere as a whole. (I don’t want to give spoilers, so I’ll just say you should read at least the first three Stormlight books before this one.) The stakes were bigger than ever, but they also got even more personal for the entire crew. All four of them had to figure out who they really were & what they really wanted. It was emotional & satisfying, like watching my friends finally start chasing their dreams. I’m so curious as to what Brando Sando has in store for era 3!
