This is the most blown away I’ve ever been by the end of a series! Sanderson definitely had every aspect of this story planned out from page one of book one. Things I never expected to play a significant part coming out of left field in ways that made me feel stupid for not expecting it. If I’m honest, I was confused as to how he could’ve even continued this series after the first book was so brilliant on its own, but I happily stand corrected!
This is definitely the best book of the series. Not my personal favorite, but definitely the most impressive on a technical level.
The most impressive part of this book is his ability to take characters I didn’t really care about in significant ways (Spook, TenSoon) & make them my favorites. I would look ahead to see which chapters were going to be about them. Not that characters like Vin & Elend weren’t exciting as well.
All around, this book a page turner. Over 2200 pages in the trilogy & every word was worth making it to this end. The amount of times I was left with my jaw dropped while reading it is enough for me to recommend it & leave this five star review with no reservations!
