The fantasy equivalent of pulp science fiction.
I had as much fun with this book for the first two acts as I had with all of Streams of Silver, but the final third felt fairly exhausting.
The relationships between the characters are forced & rushed. I found myself confused at every interaction that Catti-Brie had with both Drizzt & Wulfgar. But then again, am I reading Forgotten Realms books for romance?
The adventure was fun. The creatures they encountered were bizarre. The action was solid. It was a fun book about Drizzt & I really have no complaints. I also doubt I’ll ever read it again though.
All in all, the final two entries of this trilogy served their purpose: fun ‘90s fantasy that put a smile on my face.
