Once again, I couldn’t put it down & I’m going to try to appreciate that until I get to The Slog.
The worldbuilding is so top notch here. Every place they go genuinely feels new & fresh. I see how nearly every modern fantasy book I love stemmed from this style of storytelling. There were a few towns they visited in this one that had me so intrigued & disappointed when they left for the next one.
The characters are all fleshing out. Even the ones I didn’t like are coming together in such wonderful ways.
The romance, however, is exactly what I’ve always heard. Every single couple is a woman randomly fighting off undying love for a man with which she’s never had a private conversation.
But that one flaw aside, I flew through The Great Hunt & I already have The Dragon Reborn in my backpack ready to start today!
