The Four Loves

I decided to read this book as part of a little personal study I’ve been doing on biblical love. It has been on my TBR list for quite a few years & it seemed short enough, so I went for it! Now, CS Lewis is one of my favorite classical authors & I was excited to delve into one more level of his nonfiction writing. I’ve always appreciated how he compares to modern Christian thinkers. I love how you can always tell that he put a lot of personal thought into his books rather than the modern practice of googling what other people think to put in your book & make money. That being said, this is my least favorite Lewis book in my collection so far. I’m not saying I don’t like it; j actually did like it quite a bit. My only issue is just how slow he is with the thoughts. The introduction was incredible, then we seemed to have four chapters of preparation to get to the Charity chapter. It was still an enjoyable enough read that any level of theological scholar should read at least once in their lives, but it didn’t live up to the Masterpiece that is Mere Christianity.
