The best definition of a mixed bag I could ever remember. I’ve had it on my list to read some RA Salvatore for years. Coming off a long, emotional conclusion to a series, I thought this would be the perfect pallet cleanser. And you know what? I was right. The prose was a complete mess. The pacing was all over the place. The plot was confusing. The villain was boring. But man, it was fun. And the main cast of characters really gripped you. I have full intention of completing this trilogy in time when I need to go back to a fun, simple read. Drizzt, Wulfgar, Bruenor, Regis, & Carrie-Brie would be worth a second visit at least.
