The five stars is not because this book was an easy read. As much as I love Lewis, his nonfiction books can ramble a bit. And the old English prose is rough at points; three page paragraphs & full paragraph sentences are no longer the accepted style.
That being said, I was enthralled by the story. Arguably the greatest theological mind of the 20th century telling the story of how he came into the faith. How could you not love it?!
The facetious banter was top notch. Some great lines came out of this read!
“God is, if I may say it, very unscrupulous.”
He’ll go to extreme lengths to use us to reach others. And very few have reached a fraction of the amount reached by CS Lewis. And it was an origin story to fit the man.
