[SPOILER]
This is definitely my least favorite entry in The Stormlight Archive. But it’s still Stormlight, so it’s a four star book.
It took me four months to read it. It turns out that reading four straight 350,000 word books in a series is pretty taxing. Especially when you move states in the middle of it.
I’m not a huge fan of the Die Hard storyline. And I really just do not care about any of the Parshendi characters at all.
However, there were so many things I loved in this book: Kaladin’s arc, getting to see Navani shine on her own, & the deepper dive into Spren cultures.
I would’ve liked to get more time with Shallan & Adolin. I personally thought that was the most intriguing story in this book & I felt that the lack of exploration made the end of it feel a little like a deus ex machina.
Overall, I’m very satisfied with Rhythm of War & I enjoyed another book of hanging out with one of my favorite casts of characters ever written. I’ll be reading book 5 on release day!
