Definitely not as strong an entry in the Chronicles of Narnia as it’s predecessor, but enjoyable nevertheless.
This series is purely classic fantasy in that it focuses far more on worldbuilding than character building. I mean, this 15-chapter book didn’t finish the setup until chapter seven.
Every character is just a plot device around the world. Caspian & his band of Old Narnians certainly served that purpose.
I have found that the most brilliant part of these books are the christian allegory. Any time Aslan is on the page, I find myself riveted with something Lewis wrote.
I’m absolutely looking forward to continuing this journey!
