I’m going to be honest. I did not like this book.
Paolini had some beautiful prose as always & I did find myself intrigued by the mystery, but I just hated every character to a degree that I had nothing on which to latch.
This book was less than 300 pages & it took me over a month to read it. I ended up having to switch to the audiobook (which I’ve never had to do before) because it was such a slog. I really hate audiobooks too.
I’ve been on such a great streak of books the past year or so that my standards have been pretty high, so maybe this is just me. Overall, I’ll give it a 2 because it was a technically good book. I just dreaded picking it up.
