I didn’t dislike this read at all. It just kind of felt like nothing happened.
It was nice to see that Toph’s character felt congruent with the television series. She would totally hate teaching at a bending academy! But it doesn’t really feel like that is ever resolved. Her three original students returning was nice. They were some fun characters in The Rift.
The art & coloring were up to par with all the other stories & the dialogue continued being great. These books just feel like a money grab to get people to buy anything with the ATLA logo on them. The writer, artist? & entire team definitely have some heart behind it & they’re doing a great job, they just aren’t doing much.
I’ll say that I liked this book much better than Suki, Alone, but it didn’t quite live up to Katara & the Pirate’s Silver.
