Artemis is a fast-paced moon heist with a main character who left me begging for some direction.
Andy Weir’s signature pacing and science-driven storytelling definitely kept the story moving. However its clear that Jazz Bashara, our lunar smuggler lead, is no Mark Watney or Ryland Grace. She couldn’t decide if she was a snarky rebel or someone trying way too hard to be cool. And the side characters are utterly forgettable.
Still, it’s an entertaining ride if you’re in it for the action and clever science bits. Just don’t expect the usual punch that Weir delivers in his other books.
