It’s always nice to read a collection of short stories. Nine Stories by JD Salinger is one of my favorite books of all time.
I took a big break before Edgedancer to read Way of Kings & Words of Radiance. Considering those are two of the most highly praised fiction books ever written, it was hard to sandwich this in there.
It almost felt like the interludes in the Stormlight Archive. Hit or miss with me really just wanting to get back to the main story despite enjoying them quite a bit for the most part.
Emperor’s Soul was good. Started out slow, but I really enjoyed the characters.
Hope of Elantris was okay. It was nice to fill in the little bit from the book.
11th Metal was pretty good. More Kelsier is always nice.
Allomancer Jak was deliciously pulpy & so fun to read. I laughed out loud multiple times.
Secret History was good. Slow at times, but I was really emotional by the end.
I much preferred the written form of White Sand to the comic form.
Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell is my favorite by far. Great character work, worldbuilding, & mystery! The stakes felt so real for only being 50 pages!
Sixth of the Dusk was my second favorite. Intriguing character work & cultures along with a story that kept me on the edge of my seat.
I enjoyed Edgedancer more than most people seem to. But I also enjoy Lift more than most people seem to as well. So I guess that makes sense.
I do feel like an official Cosmere fan now, so that’s nice!
